Handheld Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer

Toronto, Canada ̣€“ GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has rolled out its portable optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) which has been widely used in loss characteristics analysis and fault point location in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. This palm-sized OTDR is compatible with CATV, ISP and telecommunications fiber networks. It shows the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault points and loss distribution curves of the fiber as well as loss between two points, slice loss and return loss.
